Live improv show @ Clawfoot 01/08/11 12/07/2010
I'll be playing a live improv show on January 8th, 2011 at the Clawfoot House. I'll be playing under the Bobbie Boob moniker with Jason Zulkoski and quite possibly a guest appearance by Jared Chulufas. The show will be almost entirely material made on-the-spot with some Bobbie Boob songs mixed in and possibly even some Spatial Distortion stuff, too. We'll be opening for Darren Keen's project Bad Speler. It will be the first time we've done a improv show as Bobbie Boob. It is shaping up to be an interesting and unusual show. That's right, albums. Plural. I'm currently hard at work with "Unreleased Tracks" which is a collection of... well, unreleased songs. These are songs that didn't make the cut for various reasons. I'm pulling them all together and putting out one massive collection of these old buried tracks for your listening pleasure. Sadly, there are a handful of tracks that will need to be cut from this release due to time constraints, but fret not as they may appear on a future release. I'm also working on the 5th full-length Spatial Distortion album and I'm very excited for how it's shaping up. I'm also working with Jason Zulkoski on releasing the 4th full-length Bobbie Boob album, Afternoon Legends Vol 2, which we anticipate being released in the next couple months. Yes, this album does contain "Dirty Milk" for those of you who have been waiting years for it's release. It's almost here! You can download Spatial Distortion free here and here. Just a quick update on where I'm at. I am currently working on releasing some older Spatial Distortion material that has never seen the light of day... or rather, the internet. I am also working with Jason Zulkoski to finish a handful of tracks and to do the final mastering on the newest Bobbie Boob album (release date and title TBA) and I have just started working with Jared Chulufas of Two Black Cats on a new project that is thus far turning out quite nice. Things are moving along swimmingly and I should have a bunch of new material in the coming months. You can find Spatial Distortion playing live this Friday, February 5th, downtown at the Bourbon Theatre along with many other artists from Colorado and Nebraska. Start the night off with the gallery walk downtown, then hit up the Bourbon Theatre for art , music and more. Bad Robot Brain has posted a review of Lucid, the new full-length Spatial Distortion album: Full of highs and lows, Lucid comes off like an interpretive journey through the astral plane. While the soundscape is dynamic, it never pulls you too far in either direction. The tracks seem like vignettes of a point in time and space, and at the same time remain a part of the whole. Lucid Reviewed at Bad Robot Brain "Lucid" now available for free download 12/23/2009
Lucid is here! Spatial Distortion's first full-length album in nearly 2 years, Lucid is a beautiful blend of soundscapes, synthetic melodies and marks a big step forward for producer Jim Brodhagen. Lucid can now be downloaded from Last.fm entirely free of charge. Download now "Lucid" rescheduled for December 21st 10/25/2009
The 4th full-length release, "Lucid" has been delayed a bit. The release date is now scheduled for December 21st, 2009. This is to allow for the additional work needed to finalize the tracks, artwork and redesign of SpatialDistortion.com. New Album Coming Soon 09/25/2009
Spatial Distortion will be releasing the 4th full-length album in October 2009. The album is set to have 12 to 15 tracks of a mixture of ambient-electro and atmospheres. The tracks are going through the final rounds of tweaking and the artwork is currently being designed by Matt Bryant (aka Bad Robot Brain). This is the first release from Spatial Distortion in over 2 years and is the culmination of the many strange and unusual experiences during that time. The album is called "Lucid". |
